INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY, 8TH MARCH 2016

The International Women's Day theme for 2016 is:  Planet 50-50 by 2030.  Step up for Gender Equality.
It means celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. One can pledge  for parity..
  • help women and girls achieve their ambitions
  • challenge conscious ad unconscious bias
  • call for gender balanced leadership
  • value women and men's contribution equally
  • create inclusive and flexible cultures.
International Women's Day is annually held on March 8 to celebrate women's achievements throughout history and across nations. It is also known as the United Nations (UN) Day for Women's Rights and International Peace. International Women's Day events are held worldwide on March 8.
The UN drew global attention to women's concerns in 1975 by calling for an International Women's Year. It also convened the first conference on women in Mexico City that year. The UN General Assembly then invited member states to proclaim March 8 as the UN Day for Women's Rights and International Peace in 1977. The day aimed to help nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women.
LET US CELEBRATE THIS AND NOT STOP AT THIS...FEW WORDS FOR ALL THE LOVELY WOMEN ON THIS PLANET..

Dare to be different.  Be a pioneer.  Be a Leader.  Be the kind of woman who in the face of adversity will continue to embrace life and walk fearlessly toward the challenge.  Take it on! Be a truth seeker and rule your domain, whatever it is – your home, your office, your family – with a loving heart
Continue to give birth to new ideas and rejoice in your womanhood… My prayer is that we will stop wasting time being mundane and mediocre… we are daughters of God – here

It doesn’t matter what you’ve been through, where you come from, who your parents are – nor your social or economic status.  None of that matters.  What matters is how you choose to love, how your choose to express that love through your work, through your family, through what you have to give to the world.

Here is a glimpse of few work done over years towards empowerment of girls and women..

I thank all these women whom I  have met in my journey when I started working ...whose experiences have taught me, inspired me...

HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY..2016

  1. Interesting theme for International Women's Day. As a homemaker, I wonder what the world will look like when 50% of homemakers are men.
